Original price was: $200.00.$140.00Current price is: $140.00. + Tax & ShippingIn 2020, I created a series of paintings called SMILE—a tribute to artists and actors I admired who battled with mental health, addiction, and depression. Many of them didn’t make it through, and this project became a personal healing journey for me as someone who’s faced similar struggles.
Each piece was intentionally time-capped to 1–2 hours as part of a practice in letting go of perfection and embracing the process. I painted them all using reference photos of the subjects smiling—though, in some cases, finding a genuine smile was surprisingly difficult.
These works have been sitting in storage for years, but I feel it’s time to let them go. I’d rather they be seen and appreciated than hidden away.
I won’t be creating any more, and each one will be personally signed. Once they’re gone, that’s it.

This one-of-a-kind painting of Amy Winehouse is part of the SMILE Series, a deeply personal tribute by artist and musician Def3 to public figures who battled mental health, addiction, and depression. Created in 2020, each piece in the series was completed in under two hours—an intentional exercise in embracing imperfection and emotional honesty.
Painted using rare reference images of the subjects smiling, this piece carries both a haunting beauty and a message of resilience. Stored away for years, these works are now being released for the first (and only) time.
No reprints. No reproductions. Each piece is signed, original, and final.
