The name DEF3 began in a high-school graffiti sketchbook in the mid-1990s. Skateboarding opened the door to hip-hop culture; painting, DJing and emceeing followed. None of those disciplines ever really separated.
Over decades of graffiti and mural production, DEF3 has developed a distinctive visual language that now extends across his music, release artwork, video direction, social content and live-show graphics. He has painted hundreds of murals, with projects ranging from community streetscapes to commissioned commercial work.
At a time of increasingly automated imagery, his creative work remains rooted in making things by hand: designing, painting, shooting, editing and building an artistic world that connects to the music rather than simply decorating it.
